Learning Spanish for Beginners

You can start your Intensive Complete Beginners' Spanish language course on any Monday of the year!

2 weeks of 2 classes per day or 1 week of 4 classes per day, 10 or 20 classes per week. If you would like higher or lower intensity of study, please consult our course page to see all of our courses.

Our 'Spanish for Beginners' course is run from 09:30 till 13:10 (break included) intensive course or 14:40 till 16:20 semi-intensive course daily or twice a week 18:00 till 20:00 part-time evening course
from Monday to Friday (except bank holidays)

Improve your Spanish and enjoy your time in Barcelona by joining in our daily activities, such as salsa parties and paella classes on the school terraces, guided walks around Barcelona, special events, etc - always accompanied by one of our native Spanish teachers! These activities are suitable for beginners in Spanish and will help you to practise your new Spanish skills

If you like, you can join our afternoon club free of charge (5 hours per week, from 16:30 till 17:30 Monday to Friday), where you will be able to use our facilities to practice listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills always with a teacher available to assist you as necessary.

If you have any previous knowledge of Spanish it is the best to assess your Spanish via our online written Spanish test, followed by an oral test at the school on the first Monday of your arrival. This is because we always have several lower level Spanish classes, almost complete beginners, so if you are not really a 'compete-complete' beginner we will still have a Spanish class which is exactly the right level for you.

You can choose to study at any course for any period of time from 1 week to 1 year. However, only the very first week of your Spanish course can be regarded as complete beginners, as after the first week you will gain confidence and speaking Spanish and will not be beginner any longer.

Each class academic hour is 50 minutes of Spanish study.

You do not need to purchase study books for the first week of your beginners course - all study materials are developed by the Spanish teachers of our Beginners' Course and will therefore be provided to you during your Spanish class.

There are two types of certificates provided by our school: the attendance and achivement certificates. The attendance certificate is given to every student at the end of their course, providing that they attended at least 80% of their classes. The achievement certificate is usually used to claim academic credits for students' University degrees.

2023: January: 6; April: 7, 10; May: 1; June: 5, 24; August: 15; September: 11, 25, October: 12; November: 1; December: 6, 8, 25.
On these days there will be no group classes.

Our Spanish for Beginners course will be entirely taught in Spanish, which will enhance your confidence step-by-step, and build the next block of knowledge onto the previous one. You may be surprised, but you will understand Spanish, spoken to you by your Spanish teachers in this carefully designed program. Every piece of knowledge you will practice straight away in dialogues in pairs and other fun activities.

Our school uses a communicative methodology, which is the most efficient way to learn a foreign language. This means that you will learn Spanish through using it for real communication between you, the teacher and other students in your group, instead of just studying the language passively. This is widely accepted as the most effective and rapid way to achieve a real, practical ability to speak, understand, read and write Spanish. It is also a very enjoyable process!
